The introduction of the new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home Program, originally scheduled for 1st July 2025, has now been postponed to 1st November 2025. This delay will help ensure the transition is as smooth and supportive as possible for older Australians and their families, and will allow more time to:
- Finalise the legislation and operational details
- Train aged care staff and upgrade systems
- Ensure older Australians and their families are well-informed and supported
