International Volunteers Day is celebrated on Tuesday 5th December, and it’s the perfect time to consider how you might be able to use your skills and talents to help others and improve their lives.
This year’s theme is “If everyone did” and centres on the power of everyone to make small differences that add up to big change. Just imagine what we could accomplish if everyone did what they could to help – it’s mindboggling.
Here at FRC we’ve been blessed with some amazing volunteers in the past, so we know the enormous difference our wonderful volunteers make to the lives of both our residents and staff – and we’re enormously grateful for everything that they do. But if you’ve ever toyed with the idea of volunteering, consider this your personal invitation! We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to enhance and assist with the program of activities that we run. Our volunteers carry out many tasks, including craft, reading, activities and taking residents for walks. If you can spare an hour or so a week to come and help out, please contact our Leisure & Lifestyle team. Our residents are always happy to see a friendly face, and our volunteers will all tell you that their lives are richer for the time they spend here!
