Pets are often cherished companions for older people, and the strong bond that exists between people and their pets can lead to vastly improved mental and physical health outcomes. Pets provide companionship, comfort, a sense of purpose, emotional support, social interaction and increased physical activity levels – in fact, having a pet can be one of the greatest joys in life. And that joy doesn’t necessarily have to stop when you move into aged care.
While it’s not always possible to have your own pet when you move into aged care, we offer the next best thing – a facility pet! Our beautiful cat, Lily, spends her days roaming around the facility and being welcomed by various residents, and brings plenty of joy, delight and comfort with her visits!
