During May we celebrated Mother’s Day with a morning tea and Steve Bell entertained everyone with some great songs that had toes and fingers tapping, and some residents joining in to sing along. The ladies made some beautiful lavender bags in a craft activity to put in their rooms.
We also enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day Activity – a flower arranging afternoon organised by our very own FRC Auxiliary. The Activity room looked like a flower shop; it was beautiful; we have very talented residents and volunteers here at FRC. When the arrangements started being made, the smells of the flowers and foliage were delightful. Once all the arrangements were completed, the Auxiliary ladies took trolleys and handed an arrangement to every lady resident in the facility, which were received with surprise and smiles.
Lisa our (Catering Manager) put on a wonderful pop-up restaurant called Sage for House 5, which was attended by many and enjoyed by all. The menu was very tempting, and there was lots of good feedback from the diners.
We have had a few entertainers come and do concerts – Steve Bell, the Ukuladies, the Retreat Dancers, and Dan Wark, and all our regular activities that we do on a daily basis, along with a couple of surprise ones thrown in.
