Since the weather has cooled down a little, we have had the opportunity to do more outside activities which is always nice for everyone, and as always, it’s been a busy month.
Footy Tipping is well underway every Monday or Wednesday morning. You will see our Debbie knocking on your doors with footy folder in hand asking you “who is going to win this week” and resident Rene sorting it all out and putting it on the computer for printouts. Thank you to the both of you for your time and efforts.
This month we have done all our normal activities – bingo, cinema, art and craft, men’s group, book club, games, quizzes, Pre-schoolers visits, end of month birthday afternoon tea, and I’m sure I have forgotten something.
We also had a lovely bus trip to Barooga Botanical Gardens for a picnic lunch and a walk around and of course some chatting and laughs. An enjoyable day was had by all.
One of our residents, Peter, put on a lovely afternoon of historical videos of Finley for our residents, from many years ago, and not so long ago. He had a big audience and there was a lot of chatter amongst everyone and a few, “Oh, there’s so and so”. It was a wonderful afternoon of reminiscing for everyone who went. Peter will be showing his videos from Finley’s past once a month, so keep an eye out for the day.
Lisa and the catering team put on a wonderful pop-up restaurant in House 1, and the feedback from some of the residents was all positive. Thanks for all your efforts – you do a wonderful job.
Speaking of which, we celebrated Easter with a lovely lunch, and entertainment from Jacki. We also had concerts from Dan & Andy and Cindy Doherty, plus we had an Italian Day lunch, and commemorated ANZAC Day.
