March just flew by too fast! We had a very activity-packed month, keeping our residents busy and bringing some happiness to their days.
At the end of February, Paul, from the catering team, cooked a traditional Balinese Cuisine lunch for the residents, which was enjoyed by all, and smelled delicious.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel the Ukaladies concert, due to staff training in the activity room, but they have been rebooked in May. I also had to postpone the bus trip for lunch at Jerilderie until another date, as the weather was far too hot for our residents, and their safety always comes first.
Now onto activities we did not have to cancel for this month! St Patrick’s Day was celebrated with a lot of fun, and laughter. Residents competed in a Scavenger Hunt in the morning, and won a potato for first, second and third place (don’t worry, all potatoes were handed back, so no hidden smells will be lurking around in the future), and plenty of laughs were had. Then there was a social afternoon tea attended by many residents, with Irish music, a best Irish accent contest and a little Guinness tasting.
Ray McCartney put on a great concert, which was followed by refreshments. Everyone enjoys our live concerts, due to the wonderful talents of our local community.
In the Activities room on the walls are some beautiful artwork (acrylic pour) paintings that some of the residents have created. They are truly beautiful, so feel free to come and have a look.
