Well, yet another month has passed, with a couple of frosts in the mornings. The weather has noticeably changed, and the winter woollies have now been brought out of storage. The good news story for May is the team at Finley Men’s Shed have made an amazing donation to purchase an Aspire Mobile Air Chair. This will enhance the life of some of our residents and enable them to participate in activities beneficial to them.
This month we celebrated all our wonderful mothers on Mother’s Day. To celebrate the day the ladies were presented with a small gift, handmade cards and invited to attend a High Tea on the Monday. We also celebrated International Nurses Day by paying tribute to all our amazing care staff and nurses for taking such good care of our residents on a daily basis.
We were lucky enough to welcome the children and staff from Birralee Preschool back for the first time this year and look forward to their monthly visits. We have also welcomed Father Fredrik from the Anglican Church. Father Fredrik will be visiting some of our residents one-on-one for their religious needs, as well as running a non-denominational service monthly here at the facility. We have been entertained once again by Keith Haidle singing up a storm with all the favourites.
We are always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas to add to the program for our residents, as well as continuing to build attendance numbers for our current program.
