Another busy and enjoyable month has rolled around, and it won’t be long until Christmas will be upon us.
This month saw our residents enjoying a few new activities. We had a lovely bus trip to Tocumwal for lunch, where we toured around Tocumwal, went down to the river, and enjoyed a beautiful lunch made by our kitchen. Everyone was relaxed and happy, and lots of laughter was heard throughout the day.
We also held a BBQ lunch in H1 for residents and their families, most of whom enjoyed being outside in the undercover area, getting some fresh air and a little sunshine. The residents had a relaxed and happy time participating in scarf chair dancing to waltz music, which went very well. We will be making this a monthly event, so I hope the families of the residents can make it to enjoy the time with loved ones.
We also enjoyed some entertainment from Steve Bell and Jacki Lee, and there is always a big turnout for the concerts on Wednesday afternoons. One of our residents, Robert Atcheson, organised a concert in the H5 dining room on the Labour Day holiday, which had standing room only, and there were a lot of great comments from those who attended. Well done and thank you, Robert.
Halloween was celebrated with DIY ghosts which were thrown into a cauldron, along with plenty of chocolate-eating, dress ups and photos. We also had an ‘I Love Lucy’ afternoon, as well as a Chocolate Cupcake day, and all our regular activities. Thank you to all that lend their help to supporting the activities that we have; your support is much appreciated.
