COVID-19 Update #16

You are here: Home / COVID-19 / COVID-19 Update #16
December 21, 2020 by Finley Regional Care

Just when you think everything is going to plan!

As I write this update, the Sydney Northern beaches cluster has grown by 15 cases to 83 and our world has been turned on it’s head yet again.

As many of you will be aware, as of midnight Sunday 20th December, NSW Health directed all Residential Aged Care Facilities in the state to prohibit any visitors, entry to the facility.

In addition, they have required all outings and off-site activities to be cancelled.

Below are quotes from the NSW Health – RACF Latest Advice Website:

Visiting

Until at least 11.59pm on Wednesday 23 December 2020 all residential aged care facilities across NSW must exclude visitors.

Community activities and outings – Individual and group excursions

Until at least 11.59pm on Wednesday 23 December 2020, residents from residential aged care facilities in NSW should not leave the facility to attend family gatherings and group excursions unless the visit is essential (such as a medical appointment). Advice will be reviewed before 11.59pm 23 December 2020.

Other

All staff must wear a surgical mask whilst in the facility.

Unfortunately, everything is on hold until further information is provided on Thursday (Christmas Eve).

On a brighter note the Resident Christmas Party will still proceed as planned on Wednesday – as we planned the event based on the previous social distancing requirements, which have been reinstated.

Please be aware that we are fielding an unprecedented number of enquiries since the changes were announced. We will endeavour to keep you informed as soon as information comes to hand via these updates, the website and text messages.

Our primary contacts are our first port of call, please ensure you share this information amongst friends and family as they will only hear of the changes from those who first receive this information.

Virtual Visiting remains available by booking with Reception on 03 5883 9600 a:

  • Video Conference via Skype, Zoom, Facetime etc
  • Phone calls.

Please distribute this information to the wider family / friend group.

We again thank everyone for their cooperation during these unprecedented times. As always you can contact Reception on (03) 5883 9600 for any queries. We will assist with any respectful request for information as soon as we can.

We again thank everyone for their cooperation during these unprecedented times.
