Finley Regional Care Maintains Strong 4-Star Rating

We are pleased to share that Finley Regional Care has once again achieved an Overall 4-Star Rating under the Australian Government’s Star Ratings system for residential aged care services.

The Star Ratings program helps residents, families and the community understand how aged care providers perform across key areas including resident experience, compliance, staffing and quality measures. Maintaining a 4-Star Overall Rating reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

Outstanding Compliance Performance

One of our strongest achievements is our 5-Star Compliance Rating, the highest possible rating. This result reflects our continued commitment to meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards and delivering care that is safe, respectful and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Resident Experience

We are proud to have achieved a 4-Star Resident Experience Rating, based on feedback provided directly by residents. This rating indicates that residents feel supported, respected and involved in decisions about their care and daily lives.

Investing in Our Workforce

Our current 2-Star Staffing Rating highlights an area where we are actively working to improve. Like many regional aged care providers, workforce challenges continue to impact the sector. In response, Finley Regional Care has recently recruited additional Registered Nurses and continues to strengthen staffing levels to ensure residents receive the clinical care and support they deserve.

Quality Measures and Clinical Outcomes

Our 3-Star Quality Measures Rating reflects a range of clinical indicators used nationally to assess resident outcomes.

We are encouraged to see several results performing better than the national average:

  • Restrictive Practices: 14.52% of residents, 6.27% below the national average
  • Unplanned Weight Loss: 4% of residents, 3.02% below the national average
  • Falls: 29% of residents, 1.82% below the national average
  • Falls with Major Injury: 1% of residents, 0.26% below the national average

These results demonstrate the dedication of our care teams in supporting resident wellbeing, nutrition, mobility and safety.

Areas of Focus

Continuous improvement remains a key priority. We are working to improve areas where our results are currently above the national average, including pressure injuries, polypharmacy (the use of multiple medications) and the prescribing of antipsychotic medications. Through regular clinical reviews, collaboration with GPs and pharmacists, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives, we are committed to achieving even better outcomes for our residents.

Thank You

Maintaining a 4-Star Overall Rating is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, professionalism and dedication of our staff, as well as the support of residents, families, volunteers and community partners.

While we celebrate this result, we remain focused on continuous improvement and delivering the highest quality care possible for every person who calls Finley Regional Care home.

Together, we will continue to build on our strengths and strive for even better outcomes in the future.
