Support at Home: Helping You Stay Independent and Connected
The Support at Home model focuses on empowering people to remain connected to their community, maintain their independence, and continue doing the things they enjoy most. Whether it is assistance around the home, help getting to appointments, or support to stay socially active, our team is committed to delivering care that is respectful, flexible, and person-centred.
Did you know? Staying socially connected and actively engaged in daily activities can support both physical and mental wellbeing. Our Support at Home team is here to help clients remain active, connected, and living life their way.
If you need extra support, whether short term or long term, please contact the team at Finley Regional Care. We will be happy to discuss your needs and explore how we can support you further.
Supporting independence, enhancing wellbeing, and helping people stay connected to what matters most.
Important Update: Personal Care Services to Become Fully Government Funded
We are pleased to share an important update for Support at Home participants.
From 1 October 2026, personal care services provided under the Australian Government’s Support at Home program will be fully funded by the Government. This means eligible participants will no longer pay out-of-pocket contributions for approved personal care services.
What is personal care?
Personal care services include assistance with everyday activities such as:
- Showering and bathing
- Dressing and grooming
- Personal hygiene
- Eating and meal assistance
- Non-clinical continence support
- Assistance with self-administration of medication
What does this mean for you?
If personal care is part of your care package and you receive these services from Finley Regional Care, you will not be charged a participant contribution for personal care services delivered from 1 October 2026 onwards.
Our Coordination Team will reclassify these services to ensure they are fully funded through your package. If you are a grandfathered Home Care Package client, there will be no change.
- You will continue to receive personal care services as usual.
- Your eligibility for personal care services remains the same.
- Contributions for other Support at Home services may still apply, in line with government rules.
