We all agree that the best way to beat the winter blues is to have lots of fun in the activities room!
This month we were very grateful to be invited for a tour and morning tea at the Finley Historical Museum and log cabin. The residents loved looking at all the displays and impressive car collection, and we are already planning our next trip out there. Thank you to all the volunteers who took the time to host us.
We were visited by Biralee Preschool for bingo and Finley State Primary School while they celebrated their 100 days of school! It was a terrific day! The residents had such a fun day playing games with the little ones!
Our Finley Show art project is underway, and we’ve been hard at work crafting our entry for the upcoming Finley show! We cannot wait to show off our beautiful work.
We were so lucky this month to have a beautiful concert by FRC’s very own Tim! Tim is the plumber here at FRC but also doubles as a musician. Tim sang and played his guitars, and the residents were blown away with his hidden skills. Thank you, Tim for an amazing afternoon. We are still raving about it and cannot wait for you to come back and do it again!
One of the highlights was a fantastic game of beach ball volleyball! The laughter and joy filling the activity room was wonderful to hear. The residents quickly got the hang of the game and enjoyed some fantastic rallies. This is sure to become a regular addition to our activity rotation!
We have started setting up the activities room for after hours over the weekend. This will be a great place for the residents to meet up with visiting family and friends. There will be assorted activities set up, such as puzzles, board games and some reminiscing conversation starters. We will supply cleaning equipment to keep the area sanitised as there won’t be activities staff present on the weekends.
