Easy Apple Turnovers
A super quick and easy recipe this month –
The hack: Use store-bought puff pastry and tinned pie apple for a warm, comforting treat with very little preparation.
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed;
1 cup tinned pie apple;
1 teaspoon cinnamon;
1 tablespoon sugar;
1 egg, lightly beaten;
icing sugar to dust.
Method:
Preheat oven to 200°C. Cut the pastry sheet into 4 squares. Mix the apple with cinnamon and sugar, then spoon a little onto one side of each pastry square. Fold over to form a triangle, press the edges with a fork, brush with egg and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
Serving Idea:
Enjoy warm with a spoonful of custard, cream or ice cream. For an extra easy twist, sprinkle a little raw sugar on top before baking for a lovely crunchy finish.
You know where my office is if you have any left over. 😊
