What we’ve been up to in April

You are here: Home / General / What we’ve been up to in April
May 1, 2024 by Finley Regional Care

The year is moving quickly, and we’ve had lots happening recently at FRC. During the month we have had the addition of the Finley Men’s Shed added to the Activity calendar, giving our male residents the opportunity to attend the Men’s Shed every fortnight. There are lots of exciting options for our men to enjoy, from woodworking projects, painting and gardening, to metal work or computer disassembly.

We have also had the pleasure of concert performances from Robert Atcherson and Keith Haidle on Easter Monday, as well as Paul Vitullo and Catherine Healy towards the end of the month. I am very excited to announce our residents will continue to be entertained throughout the year by some incredible performers – thanks to the amazing Ladies Auxiliary for providing sponsorship for the program.

Once again, a new game has been introduced, which has been designed to challenge our residents’ hand-eye coordination and has brought with it lots of laughter. The program still contains lots of the old favourites, including word games to challenge the mind, exercises to maintain fitness, the cinema to watch some of the golden oldies and of course we can’t leave out bingo – and that’s just to name a few.

This year our ANZAC Day service was held on the 24th due to public holiday on the 25th April. We celebrated this National Day of Commemoration of Australia and New Zealand Armed Forces, to give thanks and recognition of the sacrifice they made.

Finally, the Lifestyle Team are looking for donations of all your old (but working) smart phones and chargers. If you can help with this venture, donations can be left at reception or the lifestyle department.
