We are so blessed here at FRC with wonderful visits from community groups.
The following day after our piano concert, the High School Ag students were generous enough to bring up some of their much loved animals for our residents to see, touch and smell!! We had very well behaved cows, very curious sheep and one-day-old chicks for the enjoyment of our residents.
There was, of course, the odd tongue in the face and the obligatory deposit on the lawn but the winners were, of course, the chicks. A procession of sighs, oo’s and aaahh’s travelled through the place as residents gently cradled the chicks and held various conversations with them.
We are very grateful to the High School and their students for such a unique experience for our residents, quite a few of whom are off the land and I’m sure recalled a wonderful life on the farm.
