What’s been happening in February

You are here: Home / General / What’s been happening in February
March 3, 2025 by Finley Regional Care

During February we have had so many exciting activities at Finley Regional Care for our wonderful residents.

At the end of January, catering team member Shabin put a wonderful Indian Cuisine lunch together with the help of the rest of the catering team. We celebrated with great food, music, and decorations and I hope all who attended had a great meal, and a lovely time. The catering team also put on a beautiful Pop-Up Restaurant called Sage Restaurant, for Houses 2 and 3 in the Cinema room, with great food, wine and conversation. Robert Atcheson is always entertaining our residents for our special days.

We also had our first Bus Trip for the year. We went and visited Jerilderie, and toured around the town in the bus. Unfortunately, it was a little too hot to get out of the bus, but there was still a lot of memories and conversations to be had while driving around town. More bus trips are planned for the near future as the weather is becoming more suitable to be outside.

Keith Haidle did a great Australia Day concert for us, with all the well-known Aussie songs, and even some songs from Aussie advertisements gone by, which was wonderful reminiscing for all.

Chinese New Year was celebrated with the Activity room turned into a Chinese Restaurant, a lunch of wonderful Chinese food, Chinese music and a happy time.

The little Pre-schoolers are back from Birrilee Pre-School and Finley Early Learning, visiting twice a month, causing many smiles to be had and keeping us all on our toes.
